Procurement tools

Transformer RFQ builder

Organize what you know, flag missing information, then copy or print a draft for engineering and supplier review.

For liquid-filled pad-mounted and pole-mounted distribution transformers, one unit type per draft. Excludes dry-type, network, substation and generator step-up designs. No equipment sizing or compliance approval.

Free. No email or account required. Your answers stay in this tab; the tool does not save or send them. Copy or print before leaving. Tool-use events do not include your answers.

Before you send an RFQ

Use approved project drawings, the serving utility’s requirements and an engineer-reviewed technical schedule. Voltage, phase, unit rating and winding connections are separate requirements. A three-phase service may involve a transformer bank; do not copy the bank rating into the per-unit field.

This tool organizes questions. It does not pick BIL, taps, impedance, protection or applicable standards. Ask suppliers to state exceptions and provide drawings, test documentation, losses, delivery terms and warranty details.

Source notes

The checklist draws on manufacturer product guidance and DistroForge’s procurement guide. Sources support the questions, not approval of a particular design.
